Palo Alto Wedding Photography | First United Methodist Church | Angela + Theo

November 25th, 2009

The ceremony was held at the beautiful and modern First United Methodist Church on Hamilton Avenue in Palo Alto. The ceremony was full of emotion, from the laughs shared because of a stubborn candle that wouldn’t light, to the love expressed in their vows to each other. Much of the music played was rearranged/composed by the groom himself; and it was all performed by close friends.

Palo Alto Wedding Photography | Ming’s Chinese Cuisine | Angela + Theo

November 25th, 2009

After the ceremony session at the First United Methodist Church, we went over to Ming’s Chinese Cuisine on Embarcadero in Palo Alto for the tea ceremony and the reception. The great food was eaten between games, laughs, slideshows, toasts, and dances; and to top it all off, the dance floor was jam packed until the party ended late into the evening.

They played a series of games, thought up by the coordinator, Mega Khiang, that created some hilarious moments.

Laguna Beach Wedding Photography – Tivoli Terrace – Russell + Linda – Ceremony

November 24th, 2009

A little while back, we met Russell and Linda, a lovely couple who got married in beautiful Tivoli Terrace in Laguna Beach, CA. The beautiful weather and venue, coupled with the great personalities of the couple and their families, made my job easy. We hope you enjoy the images!

Of course, it wouldn’t be a wedding covered by LJP without a few nice portraits of a happy couple.

We went over to the beach for our formals and couples shoot.

Laguna Beach Wedding Photography – Tivoli Terrace – Russell + Linda – Reception

November 24th, 2009

After having fun with the couple at their ceremony and on the beach, we headed over to the reception area, where there were plenty of amazing moments to capture, from emotional first dances and great smiles, to simple and cute details.

I had an great time playing around with the lights Tivoli Terrace had strung up around the room. Shot on the f1.4, the bokeh created a unique look.

40D n’ NYC – Travel Photography

November 23rd, 2009

While Justin and Pye were playing dress up for Halloween (see the earlier posts of their costumes), I (Chris) was over in NYC visiting one of my best friends from back in my college days at Cal. Unfortunately, I didn’t take any pictures of me in my costume (as peter parker), but I was able to grab some shots of the city. I left my 5D at home, strapped up the 40D and hit the streets. I’m a big fan of using a 40D for travel photography for a variety of reasons; but mainly, I’m just out way too late to feel comfortable running around with more than a couple thousand dollars of equipment, even with insurance. Anyways, I definitely missed the full frame in certain situations, especially for the city shots in times square, but on the other hand, the crop frame came in handy once in a while too, as I was able to get a few close ups without packing a heavy zoom lens. All in all, I had a great time going back to one of the most exciting cities in the world. Here are some pics that I would like to share with our readers.

On my trip, we took some walks in Central Park, where the fall colors and the beautiful weather brought out the crowds and the street performers.

I only explored about 1/10th of central park, but the parts I did see had such beautiful architecture.

The cloud cover and beautiful autumn colors in central park made a great combination.

My friend lives in Hells Kitchen, so we grabbed some bread and pastries at Amy’s Bread a couple mornings in a row.

Night shots in Times Square without a tripod were a challenge, but I decided to play with a little bit of panning.

nyc-cab

A couple nights, we just sat in Times Square and appreciated the lights, crowd, and vibe.

Without a tripod, I found random mailboxes and tables to capture some shutter drag shots of Times Square.

Ереван их больше было О_о
Connie Sithi I love these city shots! I can't believe the leaves are still so red and orange in NYC. I know you're an awesome wedding photographer, Chris, but your travel photos are my fave, especially Peru. :-)
