Laguna Beach Engagement Photographer | Seth and Shirley

March 29th, 2011

Seth and Shirley brought their active, fun and cute lifestyle to their engagement session. They laughed as they tossed the football back and forth on the beach; and they even shared a couple of casts out to sea with their fishing poles. Besides interests, they also share that ability to make each other laugh; and it’s great to know that they’ll be doing that for the rest of their lives. Enjoy the images!

Doubletree Hotel of Anaheim Wedding | Rodney and Esther

March 20th, 2011

Rodney and Esther were married at the First Presbyterian Church in Santa Ana, with a reception at the Doubletree Hotel of Anaheim. We love to give the opportunity for our clients to tell their story in their own words; and Esther was kind enough to provide a few paragraphs. We love these two and all of their interesting quirks that made all of the small details of this wedding so memorable.

“Rodney and I met when we were both reporters working at the same newspaper. I was fairly new in California and looking for someone willing to play tennis with a mediocre player. Rodney was the only person who took me up on the offer, and we became good friends and fell in love over tennis, late night coffee runs and bowling outings with friends. We also enjoy going to the beach, trying out new restaurants, fishing, camping, catching up on TIVO and driving each other crazy on a daily basis. Rodney is a 49er fan, and I love the Cowboys. He’s one of the few Golden State Warriors fans, and I root for the Dallas Mavericks. He likes the Giants and I like the Angels. I love vegetables, and his favorite veggie is a potato.

We picked Feb. 19 as our wedding day for a couple of reasons. Not only was it about a year after our engagement on Valentine’s Day last year, it was also during the President’s Day weekend and NBA All-Star weekend. That meant that Rod’s brother and groomsman would have time off from his very busy schedule as the assistant trainer for the Chicago Bulls. (Yes, we both cheer for the Bulls!) That also meant that we were limited to an indoor wedding. February is such a volatile month in Los Angeles, hot one day and stormy the next. Friday night was cold and rainy, but Saturday morning was beautiful with sunny skies and streaks of clouds. We had a fun photo session at the beach, the rain started just in time — right before the indoor ceremony and reception.

When we first met with the church pianist/organist, we didn’t give him specific directions or music requests. For the recessional, we asked him to play something fun, non-traditional and perhaps non-classical. After we kissed and were walking down the aisle together, I realized that the organist was playing the theme to “Star Wars.” What a surprise! Sometime during our short conversation a month before the wedding, he gleaned that Rodney was a Star Wars fan.

Last tidbit – Early on, I wanted to have kokeshi dolls as cake toppers. I found an artist on Etsy with a SciFi bent, and he created a Jedi groom and a Star Trek bride.” - check out the cake picture below!

I post the shot below because this is the most cameras I have seen in an audience… ever… Just in case you don’t want to count, I did it for you. I counted a total of 14 cameras. I think between the 15 of us (myself included) we should have at least one usable shot from this scene =)

Los Coyotes Country Club Buena Park | Rebecca and Lloyd

March 18th, 2011

Lloyd and Rebecca are best friends. I say that, not because I heard them say it and not because it’s a popular term thrown around during a wedding. I say it because I see it in their interaction, in the way they make each other laugh in such a comfortable and natural way. Spend just a few moments with them and finding out that they were were high school sweethearts will be no surprise. After 13 years of dating, they decided to tie the knot at the La Mirada Community Church, with an awesome reception at the Los Coyotes Country Club. Please enjoy the images!

A big thank you to all of the wonderful wedding vendors that made this day possible:
Wedding Coordinator – Christina Lee
Photobooth – Mebo Photo
DJ – Shine Entertainment
Florist – M’s Flowers
