Rakesh and Alisha were family friends who have known each other since they were children. He grew up in New Zealand and she grew up in Orange County, only seeing each other sporadically throughout their lives.
After seeing each other during a Christmas holiday, the two started keeping in touch more often; and they quickly became close friends. The friendship blossomed into a relationship after Alisha took a trip out to Australia and so began their long .. very long distance relationship that eventually led to this moment. The two were married at the Huntington Beach Hyatt on April 16, 2011 and left California on April 21, 2011 to start their lives together in Melbourne.
