Santa Barbara Wedding Photography – Avia Spa – Mark & Lindsay

This is Pye. Last week, Chris and I had the wonderful opportunity of shooting our good friends Mark and Lindsay’s wedding at Orella Ranch in Santa Barbara. Both Chris and I agreed that it was definitely one of the coolest locations we have shot. So, if you are thinking about wedding locations, check them out! Anyway, the whole day was beautiful. We started out at Avia Spa in Santa Barbara, where all of the ladies got their hair and makeup done before moving over to the gorgeous ranch. At Orella Ranch, there was just enough clouds in the sky that it created beautiful dramatic images and our bride & groom; and entire bridal party looked like models ripped out of a Abercrombie & Fitch ad. It was truly a blast hanging out with Mark, Lindsay and their whole crew.
We also want to give a shout out to Rebecca and Mickey from Duet Weddings (we hope we spelled your names right) for doing such a fabulous job on the wedding planning and venue setup. They were incredibly nice and professional; and we look forward to hopefully working with Duet Weddings again in the future! Check out there site here.

The following scene is Mark & Lindsay’s first look under one of the most interesting trees at Orella Ranch.
Under this amazing tree, we took a few couples shots before exploring the rest of the beautiful Orella Ranch
Orella Ranch also had a beautiful, yet thorny (just ask Lindsay) field that made for some great contrasting images.
The sky overlooking Orella Ranch was so dramatic, with clouds screaming with character.
Again, in this image, the dramatic Santa Barbara sky and our couple are co-subjects of this image at Orella Ranch
This image depicts the entire bridal party walking on the pathway connecting the ceremony site with the rest of Orella Ranch.
Orella Ranch and Duet Weddings did an amazing job preparing the venue.

You can see the joy and cool anticipation on Mark’s face, as he waits for his bride at the end of the aisle. The ceremony site at Orella Ranch is set on a cliff overlooking the Santa Barbara coast.

The blue Santa Barbara sky made a perfect background for this great moment.
I wanted to contrast the elegance of Lindsay’s beautiful wedding dress against the casual everyday-ness of Mark’s flip flops.
Orella Ranch wedding area is separated into three sections, the ceremony area on the cliff, a cocktail area, and the receptionarea below these steps. This was their grand entrance.

Pye (admin) Hey Tim,
Thanks for the comment. They do display differently depending on your screen calibration. So they may be a little too saturated or not enough based on your display. The prints come out quite nicely tho (a little less saturated that what you are probably seeing). Regarding the type of shots, none of them are actually HDR shots, it is just some creative dodging/burning done on the original RAW exposures.
Tim Halberg beautiful images!!! well done. possibly a bit over done on one or two of the hdr style shots, but freaking awesome the direction you're going with that! I need to try a bit more of those myself.
Andrea Reed All I can say is *WOW*!!! That is THE most beautiful wedding images I have ever seen... the colors, the lighting... everything. You guys are absolutely AMAZING. Keep up the wonderful work. You are an inspiration to me.
Venice Beach Engagement Photography – Mark & Lindsay

Hey guys, this is Pye from Lin and Jirsa Wedding Photography Los Angeles.
This past Thursday we had the lovely opportunity to spend an evening with Mark and Lindsay. A gorgeous couple getting married summer of 2009. Between hanging out, we did manage to fire off a few engagement shots and here they are.
Our only complaint was that almost every picture was blogworthy. We managed to cut it down a bit, but still, this blog entry could have gone 40 pictures long. I think this can be attributed to having a beautiful couple, gorgeous setting, and of course, the best photographers if I do say myself, haha! Oh, and how crazy was it that the theater was selling tickets to your wedding? Haha, I love photoshop =).
Anyway, congrats guys! We can’t wait to shoot the wedding next year.
