Pye John, we use a method we call "gorilla lighting" which for us is using small very portable lights, reflectors and remote triggered pocket flashes to achieve our look. The key for us is remaining very mobile by not bogging ourselves down with large lighting systems.

John Naccarato Beautiful image! I was wondering if you use any large off-camera lighting setups and a metering system when you are shooting weddings? Again, beautiful work.

The ceremony was set at the bottom of the beautiful staircases at Turnip Rose in Costa Mesa. We’ve only posted a couple of images from the ceremony and couples session, but feel free to check out the slideshow below this post for more images.

After the ceremony, we snuck to the back of the building to the fountain area for a couple of shots of just the bride and groom.

The reception at the Turnip Rose was highlighted by a beautiful traditional Hawaiian dance by Bryan’s mother and grandmother, heartfelt speeches, an emotional first dance, and an epic cake battle between the bride and groom. We’ll let the images explain the rest. And if you want to see more from their reception, feel free to see their slideshow in the next post.

The following posts shows a groomsmen and a bridesmaid’s entrance. Each pair did a little dance on the Turnip Rose dance floor as they entered the ballroom.
