Wayfarers Chapel Palos Verdes Wedding Photography | Megan and Brian

Megan and Brian were married at the Wayfarers Chapel in Palos verdes with their wedding reception at Michaels Tuscany Room in San Pedro. Throughout the entire day, we had fun with this outgoing couple, as they laughed with their family and friends, made interesting and funny faces for the camera, and didn’t hold back any emotion for the camera. Wayfarers Chapel, with its unique architecture and inspired design, creates a reverent, almost surreal environment for a wedding ceremony. Michaels Tuscany Room was beautiful as well, as we’ll talk about in the next blog entry. The handwritten letter to Megan before the wedding ceremony brought Megan to tears. The emotion continued throughout the day and into the evening.

Michaels Tuscany Room San Pedro Wedding | Megan and Brian

After the ceremony, we all headed over to nearby San Pedro for the wedding reception at Michaels Tuscany Room. The reception hall was beautifully lit by chandeliers, blue, green and purple lights, and rows of small Christmas-like lights that created an amazing ambiance for all of the major events of the wedding reception. The dance floor at Michaels Tuscany Room was a great stage for the major dances of the evening.

This might be the best garter expression I’ve ever seen!

First United Methodist Church San Gabriel Wedding | Margaret and Edward

I love Edward and Margaret’s wedding story. Nobody can tell it better than them, so I wanted to share the text directly from their wedding website. “Edward asks Margaret: “Would you like to go to the beach to catch the sunset?” Margaret responds: “Just you and me?! =p” (Margaret wanted to hang out with her friends longer) Jenny says: “You’re so mean Margaret” Margaret says: Uh, I mean Sure! GOod idea!”

Edward and Margaret go to the beach, as they were walking they noticed the sand was kind of wet, but they don’t think much of it and sit down on the sand. Right when they sit down their bottoms are completely wet. Edward still sits there and says “We’re already wet, let’s just sit here”. Margaret replies “NO, our bottoms will get even more wet!”

Edward reluctantly gets up and they head over to a bench. As they watch the romantic sunset, a lifeguard truck is backing out of the shed with flashing lights… Edward pretends to not be nervous as he waits for the beeping lifeguard truck to finish backing up.

THEN Edward pulls out….. a new JACKET for Margaret! Margaret is very excited and tries it on right away, but then she notices a humongous bulge in the jacket pocket (Margaret still has no clue and is rather uncomfortable because her bottom is still wet). Margaret pulls out a small boy teddy bear from the pocket (Margaret looked very confused). She then pulls out another small girl teddy bear from the pocket and around the girl teddy bear’s arm was a diamond ring!!!

Well you know the rest…THE END”

St. James Catholic Church Wedding Ceremony | Melissa and Jonathan

Melissa and Jonathan were married at the St. James Catholic Church with their reception at the Crown Plaza Hotel Los Angeles. The amazing day with tons of laughs, emotion and fun was highlighted by a few events. The bouquet toss was hilarious (and borderline ravenous), with the single ladies ripping the bouquet into pieces. The wedding party photo session was also a fun moment, as we spent the entire time coming up with fun, kind-of-ridiculous poses. And even preparation and the transportation to the venues were a great time. All this was made possible by a great wedding party, amazing family and friends, and of course, a great couple. Crowne Plaza Hotel Los Angeles Wedding Reception | Melissa and Jonathan

After an amazing ceremony, we went over to the Crowne Plaza Hotel Los Angeles for the wedding reception. But before the party started, we took a few fun wedding party photos. We had a blast playing around with different fun poses and using some creative lighting to enhance the beautiful skies in the background.

And of course, the guys weren’t outdone by the girls, as they had their own cool poses as well.

The reception was full of emotion, as both sides of the family expressed their love for Jonathan and Melissa throughout the night.

We snuck out for a few signature Lin and Jirsa night shots.

I love it when the cake cutting gets fun!

And here’s a picture of what used to be a bouquet. I guess they’re all getting married next.

Santa Monica LDS Temple Marriage | Jessica and Clint

Jessica and Clint were married at the Santa Monica LDS Temple on a gorgeous Southern California Saturday. While waiting outside, the family and friends mingled, laughed and anticipated the big moment when Clint and Jessica would exit the temple as a married couple. The big moment arrived, as they opened the doors of the temple to the applause, cheers, hugs, and high-fives of their loved ones. Congrats you two! It was truly a great moment. We followed this with some formals around the temple before heading down to the Redondo Beach Historic Library for their reception (detailed in the next post).
