Not long ago I had the chance to head down to the Hotel Menage here in Anaheim to shoot a special private party held by one of the hotel owners, Richard. I was introduced to Richard through one of our wonderful wedding and event coordinators Lorrie deBellis of OC Party Places. The Hotel Menage is a former franchise hotel that was recently purchased and renovated. The recent renovation has taken the former drab hotel and turned it into a tasteful and elegant boutique style hotel with a modern flair.

Let me also mention that every Friday guests at the Hotel Menage have the best seat in the house for Disney’s weekly fireworks show. Since the Hotel Menage sits directly across the street from Disneyland HQ, guests are treated to a perfect unobstructed view of the fireworks show directly from their hotel rooms and balconies.

Anyway, I had a blast hanging out with Lorrie, Richard and their entire crew. I am looking forward to all the wonderful weddings and events that are going to be booked at the Hotel Menage. Below is a venue shot of the Hotel Menage’s restaurant bar. The entire hotel is very well designed, so much so that I was pleasantly surprised at how reasonable all the prices were.

I had a blast chatting with Richard here and there throughout the night, a very cool guy. Here he is tending bar and entertaining a couple of his friends at the party.

I loved the framing and shelf design of wine and beverage section of the restaurant. So, I popped an off camera flash behind the screen and backlit the wall to bring out the design of the shelves, and the unique shapes and colors of the various beverage bottles.

This is a shot of the Hotel Menage’s Tiki Bar right outside in their main courtyard area by their massive pool.

I love moody environment shots. I threw together some creative lighting to kind of bring out the groovy vibe that was going on all night at the party.

A party isn’t a party without the liquid courage, and who better to serve it up than one of the Hotel Mirage’s beautiful bartenders. The girl holding the drink isn’t so bad either… yeah, that’s right Mr. Mustache, I’m talking to you! Haha, just playing, Eileen was fabulous and she had quite an infectious smile. Wouldn’t you agree?

And here is the magnificent view of the Disneyland fireworks from the balcony of the Hotel Menage. While clear views of the fireworks show are easily found, I thought it would scream California if I threw a palm tree into the foreground. I also love how you can see the cars streaking by on the street below.

Fireworks shots are like potato chips, you really can’t have just one. So here is one more, just to let you guys see some more cool colors!
