Seattle Tennis Club Wedding Ceremony | Julie and Zach

Yay for destination weddings. We get to meet awesome people and experience a new town, all while doing what we love. We traveled up to Seattle for Julie and Zach’s wedding; and we had a blast. They were married at the Seattle Tennis Club, a great venue with an awesome view of the water. The weather decided to be nice to us photographers, as the dramatic clouds provided a great backdrop and shade for our amazing couple on their wedding day. Seattle Tennis Club Wedding Photography | Julie and Zach’s Reception

The reception for Julie and Zach’s wedding was also at the Seattle Tennis Club, and amazing venue for a wedding reception.

Let’s start with my favorite picture of the night. You’ll never guess what I shot through to get this one.

There were great toasts from both sides of the wedding party during the reception, leading to great, candid laughs from Julie and Zach.

Okay so Zach might have gotten smashed with Cake in the face, but at least his instincts took over and got Julie back by shoving the plate right under her arm! Good job instincts!

Illinois Wedding Photography – Pere Marquette Lodge – Callista + Peter Pt 1

November 25th, 2009

Last month, we flew out to Illinois for the wedding of Callista and Peter. The entire trip was a great time, from exploring St. Louis Gateway arch and eating all of the great food to hanging out with Callista and Peter on their memorable wedding day. The wedding took place at Pere Marquette Lodge, a quaint venue in Grafton, Illinois. It was a marriage of two cultures, Peter’s Jewish culture and Callista’s Taiwanese culture. The combination created beautiful and unique moments for us to capture. Thank you both for allowing us to be a part of your big day; and we hope you enjoy your images. Illinois Wedding Photography – Pere Marquette Lodge – Callista + Peter Pt 2

Callista + Peter got the party started at the Pere Marquette Lodge, as the Illinois nighttime came upon us.
The live band rocked the house; and dancing and celebration lasted throughout the evening.

I love this image because it shows the combination of cultures, with our bride wearing a traditional Chinese dress, but being lifted up in her chair, as part of the Jewish wedding tradition.

Destination Wedding Photography – Cabo San Lucas, Mexico – Hotel Riu – Soheil & Nancy

Hey everyone, this is Pye with Lin and Jirsa Wedding Photography Los Angeles,

This past week we had the wonderful opportunity to shoot a destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. For both Chris and myself, this was our first trip to Cabo and might I say it was a blast! We shot the wedding of Soheil Pourat and Nancy Rodriguez, our clients and now good friends! They were both tons of fun and they are a wonderful couple.

The wedding day was a blast and just how I imagined a beach wedding should be! Prior to the wedding, everyone was just hanging out on the beach and by the pool just lounging and chilling. It looked so relaxing that both Chris and I wanted to join in! Luckily, we restrained ourselves and got started on the prep shots.

Aside from the outrageous heat, the day went amazingly well and we got so many wonderful images that it would be impossible to post them all. Everyone enjoy the pics. Nancy and Soheil, you guys are awesome and we wish you the best!

Destination Wedding Photography – Cabo San Lucas, Mexico – Hotel Riu – Soheil & Nancy Engagement Shoot

Hey guys this is Pye,

So the day before Nancy & Soheil’s wedding out in Cabo San Lucas, we spent half a day with them hanging out and doing a fun little engagement shoot. There were so many great pictures from both the engagement shoot and the wedding, that we thought we should split it into two blog entries.

For their engagement shoot on Friday, we hung out with Soheil and Nancy for a good part of the day. We started the shoot in their hotel, Hotel Riu Palace, which was as big as it was gorgeous. Unbeknown to us, the Hotel Riu actually has 2 distinct resorts located on the same property. So we got quite lost walking around the place until we realized that their wedding was actually at Hotel Riu Palace vs Hotel Riu Santa Fe, meh… it was a good work out anyway.

Anyway, the Hotel Riu Palace was gorgeous, in fact we could have done the entire engagement shoot at the hotel and still not even scratched the surface of all the cool areas there were to shoot. But, at Chris’ brilliant urging, after about an hour of shooting at the Hotel Riu, we took a glass boat taxi off to Lover’s Island which is at the southern-most tip of Cabo San Lucas. I think everyone would agree that the boat ride was a blast and the scenery was gorgeous.
