There’s nothing like a trip from the Orange County to the San Marino area. First off, when the GPS says it has a shortcut, it rarely turns out to be short. :) Plus it wouldn’t be LA without a few hours of traffic right?
When I finally arrived, I met up with De and Lanchi and completely forgot about the long road trip I had just taken. Once you get into the photography zone and start shooting, everything seems to just flow; and when you have great subjects like De and Lanchi and such a beautiful photography playground as the Huntington Library, this job hardly gets any better. We ventured through only the Japanese and Chinese garden side of the park, and really only explored half of the park before the Huntington Library closed. After the park closed, we went out to the parking lot and found our little favorite cove to finish the shoot. Thanks for the great time De and Lanchi; and we look forward to your wedding.
We love starting our sessions off with a nice portrait session, to get them used to the camera before going into our artistic session.
The portrait session is also a great time to bring out (or have them bring out each others’) personalities and candid smiles
The Huntington Library is full of nice, shaded areas with beautiful trees and benches.
The Chinese garden of the Huntington Library has that beautiful classic Chinese architecture that’s rarely seen outside of Asia.
Here’s De and Lanchi in front of the fountain at the Huntington Library. With the strong highlights and shadows in the scene, we thought it would make a nice HDR scene.
De and Lanchi were as natural as any couple I’ve ever shot. Sometimes they seemed to just get into the exact poses that I had in mind without any direction at all.
Of course, we have to get a couple of fun shots in the engagement session. the trees in the background and the small specs of light streaming through made an interesting backdrop.
With such beautiful trees at the Huntington Library, it’s always fun to go wide,
