Hyatt Mission Bay Indian Wedding San Diego | Tania and Dinesh

December 7th, 2010

Tania and Dinesh held their Indian wedding at the Hyatt Mission Bay in San Diego. As the rain came down in the morning, Tania and Dinesh were calm and happy as they prepared for the big day. Just as the Baraat started, the rain stopped as if someone had turned off a faucet. Dinesh and his family danced down the street to the rhythm of the drums, Dinesh on his white horse and his family energetically and rhythmically leading the way. As Dinesh arrived at where the Bride’s family was waiting, the rain started back up again, as if it had taken a quick break to let Dinesh and his family have their moment.

We continued the wonderful ceremony indoors under the beautiful Mandap in front of all of their gracious family and friends. By the time we got to our couples session, it was pretty much night time, so we did a few of our signature night time shots and before we knew it, the reception time was upon us. The reception was a great time, with touching, eloquent toasts, great dancing by both the couple and their guests, and an amazing band called O.C.P. or Out of Control Punjabis, who created a club atmosphere inside the Hyatt Mission Bay.

Thank you Dinesh and Tania. You guys had a great wedding. Special thanks to the wonderful wedding coordinator, Nahid Farhoud of Wedding Elegance, for executing the wedding flawlessly; and thank you to my second shooter Laura Im for her great, reliable, and creative work (as always). Also, shoutout to our lighting assistant, Larissa Low for her help as well.

San Diego Hyatt Wedding Photography | Melissa and Kasey

August 26th, 2010

Kasey and Melissa were married at the San Diego LDS Temple, right in time for the construction and visible scaffolding around the beautiful structure. Instead of letting that put a damper on their day, these two reminded their guests during their speech at the reception that there was an amazing moment happening inside of the temple, regardless of what was happening on the outside. Such is the personality and attitude of this positive and amazing couple and their family and friends.

We had a great time shooting their wedding, planned flawlessly by Melissa’s own mother, Diane Erickson who runs Eternity Events. There were two ceremonies, the official ceremony inside of the LDS temple and a ring ceremony at the Hyatt for a more public showing of their union. Their personal touches were on every aspect of the wedding, from the lemon theme to the cute table cards made of flowers. They held nothing back when it came to the wedding cakes. Yes, plural! There were cakes of all flavors, beautifully decorated and placed on a few tables taking up an entire corner of the reception hall. I couldn’t help but feel a little envious of the guests enjoying all of that goodness. The night was capped with a great sparkler exit of our couple while the families and friends danced and partied into the late evening.

Thanks everyone for the great time; and we hope you enjoy the images. Also, thanks to Seanny Ma of My Creative Vision for her help second shooting for this event. For more images, don’t forget to check out the slideshow in the post above.

Huntington Hyatt Wedding | Kat and Brandon

May 25th, 2010

Kat and Brandon had a beautiful wedding at the Huntington Beach Hyatt a few weekends ago. The weather was perfect, the flowers, decor and venue were beautiful; and all of the family and their guests were friendly, gracious, and fun. I first met this great pair when we took them out for their engagement session in Laguna Beach not too long ago. Their wedding day finally arrived; and it was truly a memorable event. There was everything you could ask for in a wedding. Kat the Brandon were, as expected from their engagement shoot, natural and easy-to-work-with, their wedding party was a blast to photograph, and the emotions ran high during the ceremony and the toasts. With so many great moments at any given part of the day, the photography flowed along with the day; and we came away with one of my favorite weddings to date. A special thanks to Seanny Ma of My Creative Vision for her help on this event.

Newport Beach Marriott Hotel and Spa | Brian and Reina

May 25th, 2010

A few weeks back, we had the chance to shoot the wedding of Brian and Reina at the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel and Spa. The wedding was a touching event with Brian and Reina’s big moment happening under the beautiful Orange County blue spring sky. The wedding was filmed by the crew of a new reality television series by TLC called “Hair Comes the Bride,” and Brian and Reina will be their first featured couple. Having to share time with the television crew presented a few challenges, but luckily, Brian and Reina were naturals in front of the camera. Their love for each other and comfort with each other helped create imagery full of emotion and warmth. Special thanks to Carla Gates for her help on this Wedding.
