Here are a few spreads from the album we just ordered for Kat and Brandon. They had a gorgeous wedding at the Huntington Beach Hyatt; and we were fortunately enough to be able to be there with them to capture their amazing day. Enjoy!

Here’s another quick example of our album styles. This one’s from Pejman and Goli’s Nixon Library Wedding. Enjoy!

I just finished a few album spreads for one of our sample albums that I thought I’d share with you all. I chose to use Will and Alicia’s gorgeous wedding from the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort in Carlsbad. See the full blog entry of their wedding here.
The album design process is as stylistic and subjective as photography or post production. In our studio, we follow a set of design rules that we’ve drawn from our experience in Web and Print Design (we weren’t always full time photographers). Some are obvious, such as not having a page break dividing a face or important object in an image. Others are more subtle, like maintaining the same mood, vibe, and color arrangements on the spread.
We try to give the viewer a natural path to follow; and in any given spread, we try to have one or two main focus points, with supporting images to supplement the main image(s). Overall, the goal of an album is to convey the mood and emotion of the wedding day. We’d rather have a viewer say “wow what a beautiful wedding” rather than “wow those are beautiful images.” Having beautiful images in an album is one thing, but portraying the joy and emotion of the wedding is an entirely different experience. Anyways, those are just a few things to give you an idea of the thought process behind these spreads. We hope you enjoy!
