Laguna Village Wedding | Angela + Eric | Part I

December 9th, 2009

A Little while back, I had the opportunity to capture the wedding of Angela and Eric at Laguna Village in Laguna Beach, CA. Their gracious families and friendly guests, coupled with the amazing couple, created an environment conducive to smiles, laughs, and emotional moments.  We had a great time shooting your wedding and we hope you enjoy your images!

Upon arriving, we found our beautiful view of at Laguna Village completely blanketed by fog. However, I was able to snap off this shot early in the day when there was still a bit of blue in the sky.

I love this shot of Eric waiting for Angela coming down the aisle. Meanwhile, we check out all them DSLRs in the crowd!

While it was foggy, I love how the pictures turned out. I love the look of the white in the backgrounds, I feel like it makes the day look so elegant.

I love how happy Eric and Angela are in this candid shot of them making their grand exit after their first kiss at Laguna Village.

Laguna Beach Wedding Photography | Laguna Village | Angela + Eric | Part II

December 9th, 2009

Here is Part II of our blog entry for Eric and Angela’s Wedding which includes our outrageous bridal party and couples session at Brown Park, which just so happens to be right next door to Laguna Village. Quite convenient I must say. In between goofing off and hanging out at Brown Park, we did manage to snap off a few shots, which I think turned out quite well! Then we headed back to Laguna Village to continue with the reception and partying!

What a good looking group of men right here. I loved Eric’s suit, the look and fabric was so unique and it completely stood out from traditional wedding tuxes. Eric, don’t let anyone tell you that you don’t have style my friend.

“Alright girls, give me sexy! … wait… that’s not quite what I meant… oh well” – click – Haha, you girls were so much fun.

While Brown Park is quite small, there are still a ton of amazing shots to be had there. From the outside of the park, I saw this beautiful silhouette shot of our couple as they are completely surrounded by the Brown Park vegetation.

I think every photographer takes the opportunity to shoot the Brown Park poetry railing, so it is kind of over-done. Which is OK, but I wanted to make sure that I shot something unique and different. So, I thought that a silhouette shot that brought focus to the words of the poem would be quite fitting.

On our way back to Laguna Village from our shoot at Brown Park, Nataliya grabbed this beautiful candid of our couple caught in a quick kiss while the Laguna Beach traffic buzzes by. Given the fog and white in the sky, I thought that it would look gorgeous with a vintage look to it.

Eric and Angela choreographed such a classy first dance. As the camera was clicking away, we caught them in this wonderful pose during the first dance.

It is obvious where Angela and Eric get their good looks. Below is a picture of their beautiful mothers enjoying all the stories of mischief and debauchery told of Eric and Angela during the toasts. Quite entertaining I must say, especially their story about how they met and started dating!

It wouldn’t be a Lin and Jirsa Wedding without including at least one crazy party shot. I think the shot below would qualify.

Laguna Beach Wedding Photography – Tivoli Terrace – Russell + Linda – Reception

November 24th, 2009

After having fun with the couple at their ceremony and on the beach, we headed over to the reception area, where there were plenty of amazing moments to capture, from emotional first dances and great smiles, to simple and cute details.

I had an great time playing around with the lights Tivoli Terrace had strung up around the room. Shot on the f1.4, the bokeh created a unique look.

Laguna Beach Wedding Venue Photography – A Bart Prince Design

August 19th, 2009

Hey guys,

For those of you that may not know, while we focus on weddings we also do commercial, venue and architectural work when it comes our way. A little more than a week ago, our good friends at the Event Loft hired us to shoot the venue shots for a wedding in Laguna Beach which she coordinated. Adina’s driving instructions ended with “it’s the house that looks like a big whale.” While I thought, how could that be, when I arrived I found her description to be quite accurate!

Saying that the architecture of the house was amazing and unique would be an clear understatement. I asked Adina about the design so she introduced me to the owner, a kind gentlemen named Bart Prince who told me that his friend and mentor was Frank Lloyd Wright! Saying that Mr. Prince’s design is absolutely stunning would be a clear understatement. To see more of Bart Prince’s work, visit his website at http://www.bartprince.com/.

Anyway, Adina did an awesome job with the design and coordination of the event and the house itself was amazing. Here are a few pictures of our shoot for you guys to enjoy.

I started in the backyard where the wedding ceremony site was. I don’t know about you guys, but that backyard view of Laguna Beach sure beats the one of our pool in our place.

Adina went with a classic retro theme which looked gorgeous.

We were asked to get some shots of the umbrellas and fans, so why not arrange them and make a nice shot out of it!

Ok, so here is where we can show you a bit of the amazing architecture. This is the interior courtyard of the Bart Prince home.

This shot shows the cool wood layering that covers the entire outside of the house.

I know, I know, but I want you guys to see it from all angles! Check out that staircase!

Nice final detail shot to finish it off.

jkb Bart Prince is an architect in Albuquerque, New Mexico and designed the house for a client. He does not own the house and would have been 12 yrs old when Frank Lloyd Wright died. Just a clarification. Thanks
jkb A Bart Prince design. Please go to www.bartprince.com to see more of his work.
Gieo Pensoneault beautiful location, architecture and photography. Nice work. G
Trudy Beautiful photographs. You really captured the essence of his architectural style. Keep up the amazing work.

Downtown Laguna Beach Engagement Photography – DeBilzan Art Gallery – Kelvin and Tania

April 27th, 2009

Hey everyone this is Pye,

This past weekend Justin and I had the privilege of meeting and shooting a lovely Australian couple, Kelvin and Tania, in Laguna Beach. The four of us ran all around downtown Laguna Beach having a blast shooting everywhere.

During our shoot, we saw tons of art galleries in Laguan Beach. But, one of the galleries had some artwork that clearly stood above the rest. The DeBilzan Art Gallery features colorful abstract paintings by William DeBilzan. I loved his work so much that I thought, we need to get some shots in there with our couple! The Gallery Director and artist’s sister, Deborah DeBilzan, was kind enough to allow us to shoot a few shots in the gallery.

Stop by William DeBilzan’s website to check out some of his work. While we pride ourselves on our artwork and photographic quality, I don’t think any photograph can do his work justice.

If you are in the Laguna Beach area, you can also stop by the DeBilzan Art Gallery to see these amazing pieces in real life. Here is the Gallery’s address

DeBilzan Gallery
224 Forest Ave
Laguna Beach, CA‎

Kelvin and Tania, you guys were tons of fun and we are looking forward to the wedding! Enjoy the photos.
